Timber Frame Closed Panel - Affordable Housing Detached 3 Bed

Dynamic Insulation was installed in the walls and roof of closed panel timber frame dwellings by Andrew H Wilson Homes on behalf of Orkney Housing Association. The houses were monitored prior to occupation and the dynamic insulation was switched on and off allowing its effect to be measured.

 

Results demonstrated a 28% reduction in the fabric power heating requirement for Dynamic Insulation (from 55.1 WK-1 to 39.3 WK-1) and a U-value for the active areas 0.087 W/m2 K and composite U-value of 0.13 W/m2 K
