Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP)

Dynamic Insulation has been available to energy performance assessors via Appendix Q of the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) since the start of 2011. SAP is the UK National Calculation Methodology for creating Energy Performance Certificates for buildings and plays a vital role in the drive towards more energy-efficient homes. 

The inclusion of Dynamic Insulation in SAP enables House Builders to use the low U-values, SAP DER improvement points and low cost carbon savings to meet all 2010 through 2016 standards without any change to familiar building methods or add-on thermal technologies.

Additional Solar Gain uplift can be attributed to Dynamic Insulation in the same manner as transpired walls. Calculation processes for quantifying the scale of this benefit have been developed for SBEM software and these are being considered for application to Dynamic Insulation building systems.
