Lawtech, Dryvit and Jablite have teamed up together with an innovative new system for the EWI market called dynamic insulation.

Retrofit installed at South Cambridgeshire District Council's Rampton Drift properties for Willmott Dixon, the system combines Dryvit Genisis adhesive renders and top coats with the innovative Jablite dynamic insulation board.

One of the thorniest problems for housebuilders and designers today is how to meet the ever-increasing demands for energy-efficiency and carbon reduction. 

Government targets for decarbonising the economy are now felt in every aspect our lives and, in housebuilding, they are enshrined in the Building Regulations and the Code for Sustainable Homes.

The twenty-seven new homes for the Housing Innovation Showcase are now under construction in Dunfermline, Fife.

The £3.3 million showcase is a joint venture between Kingdom Housing Association and Fife Council to trial new construction technologies which can improve standards, cut costs and are applicable for larger affordable housing programmes in the future.

In most commercial buildings the dominant energy user is air conditioning to cool internal heat arising from lights, equipment and occupancy. Insulation products that limit heat loss from the building envelope are therefore less applicable.

A building envelope that could retain heat when required and then switch performance to dissipate incidental heat gain when required could potentially transform the energy efficiency of Commercial Buildings and lead to much smarter carbon reductions.
